T.I. To Be Released From Prison Wednesday

Incarcerated rap star T.I. will be released from prison on Wednesday (August 31st), according to reports.

T.I. will be released from the Forrest City, Arkansas prison on Wednesday, after serving an 11 month prison sentence for violating the terms of his probation.

The rapper was busted for drug possession in Los Angeles, along with his wife ToMeka "Tiny" Cottle in September of 2010.

The arrest came just six months after he'd been released from prison, after most of the precious year for attempting to purchase machine guns and silencers during the BET Awards in October of 2007.

Earlier this month Yung Dro, an artist signed to T.I's Grand Hustle record label, checked in with AllHipHop.com to discuss T.I.'s mind state as he prepares to be released from prison.

“As far as when he gets home, things are going to be very different. Hell yea things are going to be different. We have jeopardized our livelihood, you know which is like the devil and everyone makes mistakes and we still have a shot, its not over,” Dro explained to AllHipHop.com. “We entitled to 2-3 falls, as long as you make good on it. How dare we mess it all the way up. Long as we make good, we will be ok. Get back up again. Fall and get back up. Because he ain’t no evil person, we will prosper and come back even better."

5.9 Earthquake Hits Virginia And Rocks NY, D.C., NC

5.9 Magnitude Quake Rocks East Coast
A 5.9 earthquake may be no big deal on the West Coast but here on the East side of America it caused a panic around 1:15 p.m. ET and lasted for about 30 to 45 seconds.
The quake was centered near Mineral, VA but was felt in Washington, New York City, Rhode Island and North Carolina. Government buildings in New York were evacuated and The Pentagon in D.C was evacuated as well.
Doug Kammerer, meteorlogist with the NBC affiliate in Washington, calls the tremor a "very big earthquake for our area."
11 million people have reportedly felt the shake but there has been no word of any injuries so far.
For some reason, we're waiting for a statement from President Obama who was playing golf when the quake went down.

How female teens feel about social networking..first hand comments..smh

“There’s more ‘life’ happening online than offline. If you are not online, you are completely out of the loop--you don’t have a life, you don’t really exist.”

--Hannah, 13 years old

“I’m online even during class. I’m supposed to be taking notes but instead I’m commenting on stuff and uploading pictures.”

--Emma, 14 years old

“I feel safer online than I do offline. So I do things online that I wouldn’t do in real life.”

--Sadie, 14 years old

“I’ve become very good at taking pictures of myself. I know what angle is best, I know how to part my lips...you know. It’s like the number one thing on my mind is ‘I need to get home right now and take a new profile picture.’ All because I want someone to comment on how I look.”

--Katie, 15 years old

“Social networking affects all the things you do in real life now. Like, if you go to a party, one of the most important aspects of going to the party is to document yourself for online posts. You have to prove you were looking good, you were having fun, and that you were actually there! It’s not about the party anymore but about the pictures of the party.”

--Caroline, 14 years old

“I feel sad, depressed, jealous, or whatever when I don’t get a lot of “Likes” on my photo or when someone else gets way more Likes than me. Honestly, I’m not sure that parents realize how drastically it affects our self-image and confidence. If I see a picture of a really pretty girl, it’s like ‘Goodbye self-esteem.’ It forces me to compete and do stuff that I don’t want to do, so my confidence will get a boost.”

--Samantha, 14 years old

“Sometimes I feel like I’m losing control. I want my parents to tell me to get off the computer. Actually, they would need to literally take the computer away because I can’t stop myself.”

--Nina, 15 years old

“My friendships are really affected by social networking. You have to constantly validate your friends online. And everyone’s like ‘Where were you?’ ‘What have you been doing?’ ‘Why haven’t you commented on my picture yet?’ So you have to be online all the time, just to keep track, so you don’t upset anyone.”

--Jasmine, 13 years old

“There is so much pressure to look happy all the time—you can never just be yourself-- because everybody is always taking pictures and posting them.”

--Nikki, 13 years old

“I really want my mom to be proud of me. Obviously, I want her to think I’m writing my essay or doing things I should be doing instead of being on Facebook. But I also want to be online. So I lie or accuse her of not trusting me. It’s awful, but I’ve become really comfortable with lying.”

Birdman Yet to Pay for $8 Million Maybach Exelero

Back in April, rapper and Cash Money label boss Brian "Birdman" Williams took to Twitter to boast about his new ride, the $8 million Maybach Exelero -- a one-off design created in 2005 to test super-fancy Fulda tires.

As of right now, however, said high-performance vehicle remains in the possession of European businessman Arnaud Massartic, who tells Motor Authority that Birdman's payment has yet to arrive.

Lest anyone think these hard economic times have taken their toll on the Cash Money empire, Birdman assured Forbes last week that the Exelero would be his by December. Auto dealer Marc Stromvig, who's sold Birdman dozens of cars over the last decade, says the hip-hop mogul should be taken at his word, since "he's never had a problem paying his bills."

"Are there notes on some of his cars?" Stromvig asked Forbes. "Sure. But there's probably a note on your car, too."

Earlier this year, Forbes estimated Birdman's fortune at $100 million -- a figure the New Orleans native found insultingly low. He believes he's worth anywhere between $250 million $500 million.

Next month, the music mogul plans to bet more than a million on boxer Floyd Mayweather's bout with Victor Ortiz.

Rakim Says He Will Never Cater To Hip Hop Trends, Speaks On "The Seventh Seal"

The God MC says his last album was an attempt at a "conscious" release and that he's ready to get back to having fun on his next LP.

With his most recent release The Seventh Seal dropping in 2009, Rakim faced some criticism for the album’s content and aesthetic, a chance he knew he was taking. Speaking with splash! Mag TV, the God MC explained that he didn’t let fans’ negative reactions to the album get to him and that he would never sacrifice his style to adapt to the times.

“You care about it, but you don’t let it do nothing to you. It’s rap, it’s an album, some people will like it, some people won’t. Hip Hop is so diverse and mixed right now, you have a lot of fans who like radio-friendly Hip Hop. I don’t do that. You have a lot of fans who like pop Hip Hop. I don’t do that. You got a lot of fans that like different styles,” he said. “I’m from my era, I’m known for doing a certain kind of music. I don’t want to switch off and do what Lil Wayne is doing. That ain’t Rakim. I can’t switch off and do what Wiz Khalifa’s doing. That’s not Rakim. It’s hard trying to keep up with what’s going on and still keep your integrity and keep your logo and your brand of who you are with these times. I made a statement. Definitely wanted to bring about that awareness with a conscious album.”

The Seventh Seal, which bowed at No. 61 on the Billboard 200 with 12,000 copies sold in its first week, was Rakim’s attempt to make what he claims is a “conscious album.”

“I wanted to do a conscious album. There’s zero conscious in the hood right now, zero conscious in Hip Hop right now. But as far as Rakim, I had to do what I felt people expected from me, made a big statement. It’s good that I got that off my chest. Now, I can get back in the studio and have a little fun and not worry about having so many responsibilities and weight on my back.”

MAN SUES DOCTOR AFTER HE WRONGFULLY AMPUTATED HIS D**K!

When Philip Seaton woke up after surgery in 2007, it was too late - make that way, way too late - to seek a second opinion.

The Kentucky man was in court Thursday, suing his doctor for amputating his penis during what was scheduled as a routine circumcision to relieve inflammation.

Seaton and his wife Deborah are seeking unspecified damages from Dr. John Patterson to compensate the couple for "loss of service, love and affection."

Jury selection in the case began Thursday, with the ponytailed plaintiff seated alongside his attorney.

An attorney for Patterson said the Louisville doctor had to remove Seaton's penis after discovering cancer during the surgery.

But the lawsuit contends that even if Patterson did find cancer during the Oct. 19, 2007, procedure, it was a non-emergency situation - and Seaton never had a chance to consider other options.

"It didn't have to happen that way," he said in 2008, when the lawsuit was filed.

His attorney, Kevin George, said in a pre-trial hearing that the case is simple: Whether jurors find Patterson's decision was "a necessary part of the surgery."

Defense attorney Clay Robinson maintains the doctor "had no reasonable option" other than removing the cancer - and the penis.

The Seatons have already reached an undisclosed settlement with Jewish Hospital, where the surgery was done.

Game Cleared Of Criminal Charges Over Tweet

Rapper Game has been cleared by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, after he faced criminal charges for sending out a tweet.

The drama unfolded on August 12th, when Game tweeted the number of the Compton Sheriff's Station to over 580,000 of his followers, resulting in a “telephone flash mob” that jammed emergency phone lines for hours.

As a result, officers were late responding to several serious crimes.

According to Captain Mike Parker, the investigation has been dropped, since came apologized and blamed the action on a friend who was using his cell phone.

“Based upon our investigation, as well as consultation with the Los Angeles County attorneys office, the LASD consider the criminal investigation into this matter close,” Captain. Mike Parker said in a statement.

Game is preparing to release the R.E.D. Album, which is due in stores on August 23rd.

NYPD forms Social Media Unit to Mine Facebook & Twitter

The NYPD has formed a new unit to track troublemakers who announce plans or brag about their crimes on Twitter, MySpace and Facebook.

Newly named Assistant Commissioner Kevin O'Connor, one of the department's online and gang gurus, has been put in charge of the new juvenile justice unit. He and his staff will mine social media, looking for info about troublesome house parties, gang showdowns and other potential mayhem, sources said.

The power of social media to empower both criminals and cops has been on full display in London this week, where riots and looting have been spreading dramatically.

The rioters have been using Twitter and BlackBerry messages to choose targets for looting or burning - and to alert one another about police positions.

The very same social media have been a source for those trying to help cops by posting photos of rioters.

O'Connor's new unit will operate under the Community Affairs Bureau; it will also handle outreach programs, with its mandate going beyond the Net.

Still, the 23-year veteran is known for his success in online policing, including stings to catch predator pervs looking for sex with underage victims.

And he was credited in his former assignment with a Manhattan North gang unit for providing critical information in a number of shooting cases gleaned from online boasting. O'Connor, who could not be reached for comment, was promoted to his new position from lieutenant - a highly unusual stepup in rank.

Under Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly, the NYPD has made wide use of technology, and it's helped in a number of cases, including:
In March, Anthony Collao, 18, was fatally beaten in an anti-gay attack at a Woodhaven, Queens, house party advertised on Facebook. Calvin Pietri, one of six arrested, bragged about the murder on Facebook, authorities said.

Also in March, a feud over a $20 loan for diapers played out on Facebook and ended with Kayla Henriques, 18, accused of stabbing to death her friend Kamisha Richards, 22, in East New York, Brooklyn.

In May, a man was shot dead at a Queens junior high reunion that drew hundreds of unexpected revelers when word of the bash went viral on Twitter.

Man Tries to Stop Car With His Feet

A Warren man is accused of pulling a Fred Flintstone and trying to use his feet to stop his vehicle after his brakes failed, causing him to crash into at least four other cars.

The 24-year-old man attempted to drive home in a vehicle that had no brakes at about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, said Roseville Deputy Police Chief James Berlin.

The man was traveling in the area of Interstate 696 and Groesbeck Highway, he said. He was sticking his feet out of the vehicle door to slow and stop the vehicle when necessary — "moronic decision-making," according to Berlin.

But he was unable to stop the vehicle when he got to the intersection of Groesbeck and 13 Mile, officials said. His vehicle went through the crossing and struck two vehicles, Berlin said. The damage was minor and no one was injured.

He continued on and tried to use his feet to stop the vehicle as he approached the intersection of Groesbeck and Utica Road. Again unable to stop, he struck two more vehicles.
Berlin said the man was not intoxicated or under the influence of any drugs.

The suspect told police he was tired and was trying to drive home because he had to be at work the next morning. He also told officers his brakes first failed at 11 Mile and Bunert in Warren, but he opted to continue driving home instead of parking the vehicle and calling for help, officials said.

Berlin said the suspect is scheduled to appear in court next month to face charges of reckless driving and driving with a suspended license.

U.S. SKI TEAM MEMBER ON A JETBLUE FLIGHT PISSES ON AN 11 YEAR-OLD GIRL!

NEW EDITION MEMBER JOHNNY GILL GETS SUED OVER TALKING SH!T ON TWITTER!

New Edition singer Johnny Gill waged a ferociously bitter Twitter war against the CEO of his record label last week -- calling her "f**king nuts" -- and now she's taking his ass to court.

The producer, Ira DeWitt -- wife of St. Louis Cardinals owner Bill DeWitt -- claims Johnny was PISSED when a song rumored to be on his upcoming album was leaked on the Internet ... and he wrongly blamed her.

According to the lawsuit, filed Thursday in L.A. County Superior Court, DeWitt claims she had nothing to do with the leak -- but Gill attacked her on Twitter anyway ... calling her "deranged" and "f**kng nuts."

DeWitt also claims Gill tweeted defamatory statements about her business ... saying her record company is a sham and that she only liked the leaked recording because she had a "hard on" for one of the song's producers.

DeWitt claims Gill has damaged her reputation -- so she's suing for unspecified damages ... AND she wants the judge to force Gill to stop trashing her on Twitter.

DAME DASH SAYS HE'S BROKE & GETTING AUDITED BY THE IRS!

Reports recently came to light that Dame Dash owes $3 Million to the IRS and Dame admitted to the faux pas (to put it in light terms) in a recent interview on Sway Calloway's radio show on Shade 45.

"I owe way more than $2 million in taxes," said Dame. "That must've just been the IRS," said Dash, laughing. "Nah, nah, I'm f*cked up."

Dame continued, "They're auditing me. When you're a business man, you have a lot of businesses, a lot of times they think you're laundering money or you're pretending you're writing things off that you don't. I'm a true businessman. As you know, I believe in my independence, I have no partners, so every dollar I make goes right back into every business I have."

Dash also goes on to explain that an accountant holds a heavy responsibility within the business to properly report where expenses are going.

"If I have an accountant that just reports I just invested $10 million in my business and he doesn't exactly itemize where every cost goes, it gives a flag to the government. They want to make sure that the reason I'm not paying taxes is because I'm reinvesting in these businesses and not trying to hide stuff."

Manny Pacquiao Expects To Face Mayweather 'Next Year'

Manny Pacquiao Expects To Face Mayweather 'Next Year'
Posted by: Ronnie Nathanielsz on 8/12/2011 .

MANILA—Pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao is confident he will face Floyd Mayweather Jr. sometime next year—even if the latest condition set by the undefeated American looks like yet another reason to dodge the Filipino ring icon.

“I will fight Mayweather next year,” said the Sarangani congressman, who plans to fight two or three more times before hanging up his gloves.

Pacquiao made the statement in an interview with BoxingScene.com/Inquirer and Australia’s KO Boxing television host and promoter Peter Maniatis at the Sofitel Hotel on Thursday evening.

Pacquiao, who was special guest and inducting officer at a Manila Rotary Club District 101 event where Liza Elorde was installed as president, is confident his promoter, Top Rank chief bob Arum, can successfully negotiate an eagerly awaited megabuck fight between two of the sport’s biggest stars.

Previous negotiations had collapsed over the insistence of the Mayweather camp on random, Olympic-style drug protocols.

But Pacquiao and Arum have now made public statements that they will agree to the tests demanded by the Mayweather camp, eliminating what has been the only stumbling block to the fight.

Or so, Team Pacquiao thought.

Arum, however, revealed that Team Mayweather has set yet another condition for the fight to push through.

“Mayweather’s crazy father (Floyd Sr.) says ‘yes’ but he (Pacquiao) is not allowed to train in the Philippines. This is bizarre,” Arum said.

“We are certainly not the impediment for that fight to happen,” Arum had earlier told the Inquirer. “We will do whatever we can to make that fight happen. But you can’t chase this guy because if you do, you’ll accomplish nothing.”

Pacquiao could be done with the sport in the next two years and has set his sights on concentrating on his duties as a congressman.

Pacquiao said he expects another difficult fight in his trilogy with Juan Manuel Marquez on Nov. 12 in Las Vegas.
